Gorgeous home-sites
on this exclusive 23 acre parcel located in Long Lake, NY. "Borders
Forever Wild State Land!" Don't miss the
opportunity of your lifetime to own one of the finest off-lake
pieces of property in the very heart of the Adirondack Mountains with a
rustic cabin on it

This fine parcel of land
is located on the south end of the 14 mile long lake, hence it's name
Long Lake. The land is not lake-front. Travel to the north end and you
are in the very heart of the Adirondacks. No roads, no electricity, no
crowds! This is truly one of the finest and most undisturbed parts of
the park. That's the reason why so many people are buying and building
in the Adirondacks... no overcrowding! There is still the feel of the
late 18th and early 19th century here. As you travel in the
Adirondack park and see the wonderful beauty of the area, you will see
why so many people are discovering life in the wilderness. This very unique parcel has an excellent town road
to the start of the 28 acres. Just completed is a 600' road which goes
all the way up to a very nice and secluded building lot. There is town
water and power to the end of the town road and ready to go. You can of
course drill your own well if you so desire. This parcel is the
only large track of land left in the town which is still Hamlet. This
means that the owner/owners, can pretty much do with the land as they
please. There is some restrictions but far less than say for instance,
"moderate intensity" land, which the Adirondack Park does deem
build-able but with many restrictions. There is also a multitude
of building lots available because this land is sub dividable to 1.1
acres so it allows you to sub-divide and sell individual lots as an
investor or developer. Or simply keep it all to yourself and spread out
in the comfort of your own rustic home. There is complete seclusion as
you enter the private road. Long Lake is where Sigourney Weaver, the
actress, as well as many other rich folks, some currently building
multi-million dollar plus homes are escaping. There is amazingly still,
total seclusion, peace and tranquility here. This, bar none, is truly
one of the finest lakes in the Adirondack Park. The north end has no
power and only a private dirt road to the very end. There you will find
old Adirondack camps in all their glamour and glory. I grew up there in
the 70's, 80's, and 90's. My folks had a camp on the lake for some 30
years and just 2 years ago sold it. I worked as a carpenter and seaplane
pilot there on the lake and eventually bought 2 old historic homes in
the town. Before I left to pursue a flying career here in Seattle, I
bought the finest, large piece of off lake property I could find. I knew
this town and area in and out and having spent some 28 years
there, I also knew what the best property was, off of the lake
but close to it. At the end of the 600' road is a very secluded building
site. There are no views of the lake, yet there are really good views of
Owls Head Mtn. as you enter the private road to the upper 23-acre piece.
The building site I chose has a neat view of the East Inlet Range. The
upper part of the land has sweeping mountain views with
very minimal tree clearing. There
is a beautiful mossy meadow down a path a short distance from this site;
yet, it is generally hardwoods and softwoods mixed, all very mature. At
night, in the quiet, with no wind blowing, you can hear the South Pond
River and falls rushing just a couple miles away. There is a small
subdivision, which you drive thru up the Heathfield Park Rd., which is a
town maintained dirt road. This road is plowed and raked year round and
is in perfect condition all the time. The neat thing about this
property is that there is, aside from the 23 acres where the1st building
site is, another 5 acres, which actually start at the beginning of the
Heathfield Park Rd. Here is where the first building lot of the
subdivision is, that I just had cleared and it now has a driveway, lot
ready for building, with water and power. The other 4 acres has a
vast grove of mature Adirondack pines, road almost finished, and offers
total seclusion in the pines. The septic systems have already been
approved and are ready for installation. The lake is just across Rt.30
at the bottom of the Heathfield Park Rd. The back of this property
is bordered by state land and is of course "forever wild." The
homes in the small sub-division prior to entering the 23-acre portion
are $300,000 plus homes on the hill with splendid views of Owls Head Mtn.
There are no lots left for sale in this small sub-division of only 5 or
6 custom homes except my first one. The town of Long Lake is cool and
laid back and very friendly. It’s kind of a step back in time here.
There is a marina just 1/2 mile down the road to park a boat and the
town beach is just 4 miles away. You might check out AdirondackMuseum.org
in Blue Mountain Lake just 11 miles away too. Also there is LongLakeCamp.com
on the lake, which is great for kids, as well as Helms Aero Service
in town for scenic airplane rides. Also a cool general store is HosssCountryCorner.com , a
new post office, a hardware store, some good restaurants, 2 liquor
stores, 3 gas stations, and a good grocery store. In town, on the lake
is AdirondackHotel.com. Lake
Placid is a short 45-minute drive away or 25 minutes by air in a
seaplane. It really is a gorgeous town and community. Why else do you think famous movie stars and internet executives
have chosen Long Lake for their secluded Rustic getaway? Once you
get here, you'll see the reasons are obvious!
If it's plenty of woods
and lots of water you desire, you've come to the right place! Deer
abound all over the property and drink from the crystal clear spring fed
river which runs through the land. There's boating, sailing,
swimming, fishing, hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, flying, nature trails,
animal watching, mountaineering, skiing, restaurants, lodging, museums,
fairs, shopping and much, much more all within easy access to your
own secluded resort home. The Adirondacks are truly an all season
paradise. If you like privacy, piece of mind, living in a
gorgeous place and a wonderful and friendly community, then this
is the place for you. There is a full-time resident base of only 900
people. The vacation population swells to a comfortable 3000 residents
in the summer. Please call Jim @ 206-409-0229 or e-mail
for
further details.
